Based out of our Middletown, OH automotive testing facility, the Maintenance Technician – Engine Hot Test is responsible for trouble-shooting, repairing, and performing preventative maintenance on engine test cells and supporting equipment. Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, the Maintenance Technician – Engine Hot Test is integral to the production testing and success of the team. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Troubleshoots and repairs engine test cell & supporting equipment including: Electrical troubleshooting Test cell coolant system: replace coolant pump, cleans coolant filters, replace/fill coolant Test cell fuel systems: replace gasoline pump, replace gasoline Repair (weld) exhaust system and fixtures, replace exhaust gaskets and insulation Check fluid levels in all equipment Check, adjust pressures in various systems, record in Maintenance Logbook Replace starter relays, repair starter, maintain battery in each test stand Clean or repair POGO harnesses Prepare drums of coolant for filling test stand coolant reservoirs Maintain tilt rack evacuation equipment Maintain emission analyzer sampling system Document equipment issues/repairs to assist in future troubleshooting. Perform preventative maintenance and inspect test hardware. Inspect test cell ventilation system & repair as needed. Perform preventative maintenance on test cell electrical system. Assist with lab housekeeping. Assist in calibrating test cell thermocouples and pressure transducers monthly. Maintain a clean & organized work area at all times: spills are cleaned off floor & equipment, tools are returned to designated areas, disposable items placed into designated bins. Report all maintenance issues to the Shift Supervisor. Assist with inventory control. All work is done according to appropriate Hot Test procedures, using required PPE, and in compliance with protocols. Use PPE at all times and follow safety procedures. Other related tasks as required to complete his/her job assignment.
