As a Maintenance Technician, you will be crucial in ensuring the proper functioning, maintenance, and safety of chemical processing equipment and facilities. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of chemical processes, excellent problem-solving skills, and a commitment to safety and quality.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Equipment Maintenance: Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on chemical processing equipment including pumps, valves, reactors, and distillation units to ensure optimal performance and minimize downtime.
  • Troubleshooting: Identify and diagnose equipment malfunctions, leaks, and other issues, and develop effective solutions to address them promptly.
  • Safety Compliance: Adhere to all safety protocols and procedures in handling hazardous chemicals, maintaining equipment, and conducting repairs to ensure a safe working environment for yourself and your colleagues.
  • Documentation: Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment inspections, repairs, and any modifications made to equipment or facilities, in compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Emergency Response: Respond promptly to emergencies such as chemical spills, leaks, or equipment failures, and take appropriate measures to contain the situation and minimize risks to personnel and the environment.
  • Inventory Management: Monitor chemical inventories and equipment spare parts, and coordinate with procurement to ensure adequate supplies are available to support ongoing operations.
  • Training and Support: Provide guidance and training to operators and other maintenance personnel on proper equipment operation, safety procedures, and maintenance best practices.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization, efficiency improvements, and cost savings, and collaborate with the engineering team to implement changes as needed.

Key Qualifications:
  • High school diploma or equivalent is required. Additional technical training or certification in chemical maintenance, mechanical engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum 4-5 years’ experience in maintenance or a similar role in a manufacturing or processing environment.
  • Possess intermediate knowledge of pipe fitting, carpentry, welding, electrical and mechanical systems.
  • Some knowledge of building, electrical codes and OSHA regulations.
  • Must be able to lift up to 55 pounds; squatting and kneeling.
