Pro Resources is seeking a 1st Shift Maintenance Technician position for a client in Knox, IN. The Industrial Maintenance Technician will be responsible for the upkeep, repair, and continuous improvement of equipment and machinery in a wood-working manufacturing facility. This role plays an essential part in minimizing downtime, ensuring safety, and maximizing productivity. Shift and Compensation
  • 1st Shift
  • Compensation is from 52,000 USD to 62,400 USD per year
Job Duties
  • Inspect, diagnose, and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems on woodworking machinery (e.g., CNC routers, saws, planers, sanders, edge banders).
  • Conduct routine inspections and maintenance to minimize unplanned downtime.
  • Perform emergency repairs in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Follow a scheduled preventive maintenance (PM) program for all production machinery and supporting systems.
  • Maintain accurate PM documentation, including repairs performed, parts used, and time spent on each task.
  • Use diagnostic tools (e.g., multimeters, scope) to identify system malfunctions.
  • Interpret mechanical and electrical schematics or technical documentation to facilitate accurate problem-solving.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify root causes and determine corrective actions.
  • Adhere to all company safety protocols, local regulations, and industry standards.
  • Conduct regular safety checks on machinery and report any hazards.
  • Promote a safe work environment through training, awareness, and consistent compliance with safety policies.
  • Maintain up-to-date maintenance records, including work orders and spare parts inventory.
  • Communicate equipment status, delays, and resolutions to supervisors and relevant team members.
Background Profile
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical or vocational school diploma/certification in Industrial Maintenance, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in an industrial or manufacturing environment, preferably in woodworking or related industries.
  • Technical Skills
  • Strong mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic troubleshooting skills – MUST HAVE
  • Familiarity with CNC equipment, PLC systems, and industrial controls.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
  • Soft Skills
  • Effective communication skills for reporting, documentation, and teamwork.
  • Detail-oriented, with strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently or in a team under minimal supervision.
