POSITION TITLE: Maintenance Technician II

FLSA: Non-exempt

REPORTS TO: Maintenance Director

Contract: 240 days

DESCRIPTION:

  • Thorough knowledge and skills in plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, communications, or mechanical systems and the ability to handle major problems and repairs without supervision. Possess the ability to design/fabricate/construction components of major projects. Position could be responsible for directing others without supervision.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School diploma or G.E.D.
  • Ability to perform the essential job functions
  • Effective interpersonal skills
  • Effective grooming skills
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds to shoulder height occasionally
  • Ability to push / pull a minimum of 20 pounds frequently
  • Must have dependable transportation
  • Must have valid state issued driver's license

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Knowledge of the standard tools, methods, materials.
  • Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
  • Ability to read and interpret sketches, blueprints and specifications.
  • Ability to lay out work and make estimates of time and material requirements.
  • Ability to operate a standard transmission light truck.
  • Ability to maintain accurate records concerning work completed.
  • Ability to maintain warehouse and delivery schedules of the district.
  • Ability to operate machinery ie: mowers, tractors, fork lift, etc…
  • Ability to understand written and oral instructions.

SECONDARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Operates a computer terminal, tablet or other device to input work orders.
  • Receives work orders which contain description and location of repairs and reports to work site.
  • Performs other related and non-related duties as required.

ADDITIONAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Maintain a professional relationship with students, faculty, and administration and community patrons.
  • Submit all data and information as requested.
  • Regularly monitor district email for pertinent communication.
  • Attend meetings as scheduled by supervisors and District Administrators.
  • Complete requested paperwork.
