Job Skills / Requirements

The General Maintenance Technician performs routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance activities for a corporate headquarters campus. This position supports the daily operation of office buildings, common areas, conference spaces, and exterior grounds to ensure a safe, functional, and professional workplace.

Job Schedule: Monday-Friday, 40hrs/week

  • 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM
  • Adjusted hours as requested.

Pay Rate: Paid weekly (every Friday)

  • $36/hour

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Perform general building maintenance, including minor carpentry, painting, drywall repair, plumbing, and electrical work.
  • Respond to maintenance requests and work orders in a timely manner.
  • Assist with office relocations, furniture assembly, and workspace reconfigurations.
  • Troubleshoot and repair building systems and equipment.
  • Conduct preventative maintenance inspections on mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.
  • Replace lighting, ceiling tiles, flooring, door hardware, and other building components as needed.
  • Maintain conference rooms, break rooms, kitchens, and common areas.
  • Coordinate with contractors and vendors performing specialized maintenance and repairs.
  • Assist with fleet vehicle management and maintenance activities.
  • Monitor building conditions and identify potential safety hazards.
  • Support emergency response efforts, including severe weather preparation and after-hours building issues.
  • Maintain maintenance logs, inventory records, and work order documentation.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, OSHA regulations, and applicable building codes.
  • Assist with campus events and special projects as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training preferred.
  • Three to five years of experience in commercial building maintenance or facilities operations.
  • Working knowledge of plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC, and general repair practices.
  • Ability to safely operate hand tools, power tools, ladders, and maintenance equipment.
  • Basic computer skills and experience using work order management systems.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving abilities.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Valid drivers license and clean driving record.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, climb ladders, and work in confined spaces.
  • Ability to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.

Working Conditions

This position operates in a corporate headquarters environment consisting of office buildings, conference facilities, kitchens, parking areas, and landscaped grounds. The technician works independently and as part of the facilities team to maintain a safe and efficient workplace.
