Role Mission

The Maintenance Technician plays a critical role in ensuring equipment uptime, facility reliability, and operational continuity. This hands‑on role supports preventive maintenance, equipment rebuilds, and continuous improvement initiatives while serving as a role model within the maintenance team and a key partner to production and support functions across the organization.

Management

Report to: Maintenance Manager

Shift: 2nd Shift (1st Shift Training Required: 2 to 3-month period)

Key Responsibilities

Manage the preventive maintenance (PM) system and spare parts inventory

Perform furnace and equipment rebuilds to prevent unscheduled downtime

Collect and analyze equipment data to identify improvement opportunities

Plan and execute maintenance repairs and projects, including coordination with external service providers

Support installation, repair, and maintenance of machines, furnaces, and facility systems

Lead assigned continuous improvement projects

Monitor employee performance and maintain training competency

Ensure adherence to safety processes and procedures

Promote a culture of ownership, accountability, and safety

Provide hands‑on support as required to meet operational needs

Major Challenges

Maintaining PM programs across multiple equipment types

Supporting long‑term equipment uptime goals (3–5 years)

Coordinating maintenance schedules with production demands

Prioritizing and communicating multiple requests from across the organization

Engaging OEMs and external resources to resolve equipment issues

Success Metrics

100% completion of identified safety opportunities

100% of work orders completed within 7 days of generation

Equipment uptime improvement from 95% to 98% over a 3–5‑year period

Maintenance team competency maintained at 100%

Availability to support overtime and weekend work as needed

Technical Knowledge & Skills

Strong written and verbal communication

Mechanical aptitude; machining, fabrication, MIG welding, fork truck operation

Basic electrical and PLC knowledge

Problem‑solving and project management skills

Basic understanding of hydraulics and presses

Ability to interpret equipment, construction, and facility drawings

Required Experience & Education

High school diploma or equivalent

Minimum of 5 years in a manufacturing environment

Prior Maintenance Technician experience

Experience maintaining PM systems (LIMBLE or similar)

Familiarity with ERP systems, documentation, recordkeeping, and purchasing platforms (e.g., NetSuite)

Total Rewards

The compensation range for this position is $69,200.00 - $103,800.00, depending on experience. This position may be eligible for performance based bonus plan.
