PPS is seeking an experienced Facilities Maintenance Technician for our fabrication operation in Parma Hts. The primary role will be to ensure facilities and production machinery remain in excellent operating condition. This is a full-time, permanent, direct hire role with excellent benefits (profit sharing bonuses and on-site gym!) and a high ceiling for growth with a 100-year old company!

Responsibilities:

  • Safety is your No.1 priority.
  • Observes and troubleshoots mechanical and electrical devices in operation to locate causes of trouble.
  • Dismantles devices to gain access to remove and replace defective parts.
  • Designs and fabricates unique equipment and electrical controls as necessary.
  • Adjusts functional parts of devices and control instruments.
  • Repairs, rebuilds, or replaces defective parts.
  • Installs special functional control and structural parts in devices.
  • Maintains and records data for costing, inventory, and scheduled maintenance (performed by machine operators).
  • Remains current and implements company quality procedures as stated in the Quality System Manual, Quality Operating Procedures and Work Instructions.
  • General building maintenance, lighting, plumbing.
  • Operate forklift and elevated working platform.
  • Assist with moving, installation, repositioning of machines and equipment.
  • Repairs, fabricates, and maintains machinery and mechanical equipment such as four slides, coilers, stamping presses, payoffs, flatteners, compressors, tool room machinery and other production machines

  • Experience with relay logic, and PLC control systems.

  • Familiar with product assessment and inspection processes as well as gaging.
  • Exhibits knowledge of quality control procedures and statistical analysis.
  • Pays close attention to detail.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to acquire, assimilate, and analyze data from multiple systems and data sources using a variety of business intelligence and reporting tools.
  • Ability to put structure and discipline around defined processes.
  • Capable of applying engineering theory to product design and adjustment.
  • Works efficiently and demonstrates ability to multitask.
  • Communicate clearly, effectively, and professionally on all levels.
  • Ability to analyze data and draw
  • Ability to think creatively.
  • 5+ years of machine electrical repair and building/facilities maintenance experience.
  • Experience in welding, electrical, hydraulics and machining.
  • High school diploma or trade school equivalent.
