We are hiring a Maintenance Technician with strong finish and interior maintenance skills to join the engineering team at the JW Marriott Charlotte. This role is purpose-built for a skilled tradesperson with hands-on experience in vinyl wallpaper installation and repair, guest-room preventive maintenance, interior painting, caulking, drywall repair, and finish-level interior work — the detail-oriented, guest-room-facing maintenance skills that protect the appearance and long-term asset value of a luxury hotel property. What You'll Do

• Perform guest room preventative maintenance (PM) inspections and repairs across all guest rooms and suites at the JW Marriott Charlotte — identifying and resolving maintenance issues before they impact the guest experience
• Install, repair, and replace vinyl wallpaper throughout guest rooms, corridors, and public areas — maintaining the appearance standards of a luxury JW Marriott property
• Perform interior painting throughout the hotel — including guest rooms, corridors, public spaces, and back-of-house areas — with the precision and finish quality expected of an upscale Charlotte hotel
• Execute drywall repair and patching — including skim coating, sanding, and finishing to a paint-ready surface — restoring guest room and public area walls to like-new condition
• Apply caulking and sealants in bathrooms, kitchens, and wet areas throughout the hotel — maintaining watertight, professionally finished surfaces in all guest-facing spaces
• Make structural repairs to woodwork, furnishings, millwork, and fixtures — including finish-level carpentry work that meets the presentation standards of a luxury hotel environment
• Check fixtures, lighting, and signage for proper operation; maintain an adequate supply of spare parts, paint, and finish materials to support uninterrupted maintenance operations
• Respond to and complete hotel maintenance work orders in a timely, guest-focused manner — prioritizing guest room repairs and high-visibility public area work
• Keep all work areas — including the maintenance shop, guest rooms, and corridors — neat, safe, and professionally presented throughout and after every repair
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Chief Engineer or the Engineering leadership team

What You'll Bring

• Demonstrated hands-on experience in preventative maintenance, vinyl wallpaper installation and repair, interior painting, drywall repair, and caulking — this is the core skillset this role is built around and prior experience in these areas is strongly preferred
• Finish-level attention to detail — you take pride in work that looks professionally done in a luxury hotel environment where guests notice everything
• Proficiency with interior painting techniques — including cutting in, rolling, touch-up work, and color matching in a high-traffic hotel environment
• Working knowledge of drywall repair techniques — including patching, mudding, taping, skim coating, and sanding to a finished surface
• Familiarity with caulking, sealant application, and basic plumbing and fixture repairs in a hotel guest room environment
• Basic knowledge of general hotel maintenance, electrical systems, and HVAC — prior hotel engineering or facilities maintenance experience a plus
• Physical ability to lift and carry up to 10 lbs. regularly and up to 25 lbs. occasionally; ability to stand, kneel, and move at a fast pace for extended periods throughout each shift
