Job Description - Below are the responsibilities, expectations, and requirements of this position

Position Title: Maintenance Technician

Reports To: Operations Manager/Assistant General Manager

Responsibilities

  • Perform preventative maintenance duties in all guest rooms including caulking, tile repair, plumbing, painting, carpet cleaning, furniture repairs, lighting, etc.
  • Ensure proper documentation of completed preventative maintenance tasks
  • Respond to guest maintenance requests and resolve in a timely manner
  • Complete maintenance requests submitted by other departments
  • Complete maintenance projects assigned by the Management Team
  • Ensure required inspections are completed on time
  • Assist in the procurement of materials and supplies. Work with Operations Manager to ensure procurements are in line with budgeting guidelines
  • Maintain a professional and courteous relationship with all guests, vendors, contractors, and employees.
  • Help maintain the quality, appearance and safety of the hotel's exterior and grounds not serviced by contractor (i.e. snow removal, painting, window cleaning, garage cleaning, etc.)
  • Help maintain inventory levels and properly use department tools and assets
  • Maintain back of the house areas including, but not limited to; maintenance shop, boiler room, and elevator room in a clean and organized manner
  • Complete all required staff and department training in a timely manner
  • Complete additional work-related duties as requested by the Management Team
  • Respond to emergency situations when needed
  • Assist with houseperson or housekeeping department as needed
