    Maintenance Technician

    Job Summary:The Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining the hotel's facilities, guest rooms, equipment, and grounds in a safe, clean, and fully operational condition. This role performs preventative maintenance, responds to guest and staff maintenance requests, and completes repairs to ensure an excellent guest experience.

    Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

    • Perform preventative maintenance (PMs) on guest rooms, HVAC/PTAC units, plumbing, electrical, and mechanical systems.

    • Respond promptly to maintenance work orders and guest service requests.

    • Repair plumbing fixtures, toilets, sinks, faucets, drains, and water leaks.

    • Troubleshoot and repair electrical issues, including outlets, switches, lighting, breakers, and fixtures.

    • Maintain and repair HVAC/PTAC systems, thermostats, and related equipment.

    • Repair doors, locks, windows, sliding doors, and guest room hardware.

    • Perform drywall repairs, painting, caulking, and finish work.

    • Maintain boilers, water heaters, pumps, irrigation systems, and other building equipment.

    • Conduct daily inspections of the property to identify safety hazards or maintenance needs.

    • Assist with pool equipment maintenance and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

    • Maintain parking lots, sidewalks, landscaping features, and exterior lighting.

    • Operate pressure washers, hand tools, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely.

    • Coordinate with outside vendors and contractors when necessary.

    • Maintain accurate maintenance logs, preventative maintenance records, and inventory.

    • Follow OSHA, fire safety, IHG/company standards, and local building codes.

    • Assist during emergencies, including power outages, flooding, or severe weather events.

    • Support other departments as needed while maintaining a positive, team-oriented attitude.

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.

    • Experience in hotel maintenance, facilities maintenance, or a related field preferred.

    • Working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, drywall, and painting.

    • Ability to safely use hand and power tools.

    • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work on ladders, rooftops, and in confined spaces.

    • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

    • Excellent communication and customer service skills.

    • Flexible schedule, including weekends, holidays, and emergency call-ins as needed.

    Reports To:

    • Chief Engineer or Engineering Supervisor
