Minimum Qualifications
Education
High School Diploma with 5+ years of relevant GMP/industry experience, OR
Associate Degree with 4+ years of relevant GMP/industry experience, OR
Equivalent combination of education and experience.
Required Experience & Skills
Strong experience in maintenance within a cGMP biotechnology or pharmaceutical manufacturing environment.
Hands-on experience performing preventive and corrective maintenance on manufacturing and utility equipment.
Working knowledge of DCS, PLC, and/or Building Automation Systems (BAS).
Experience using a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS), preferably SAP.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in pharmaceutical manufacturing environments.
Excellent organizational, planning, written, and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work effectively across multiple departments and organizational levels.
Key Responsibilities
Perform preventive and corrective maintenance on production, process, refrigeration, HVAC, and utility equipment.
Maintain clean and dirty utility systems to ensure uninterrupted site operations.
Collaborate with Utilities Maintenance, Process Engineering, and Quality teams to ensure compliance with GMP guidelines and regulatory requirements.
Develop maintenance job plans, procedures, and work instructions for site equipment.
Recommend spare parts and preventive maintenance strategies to improve equipment reliability.
Process spare parts requests and work order documentation.
Troubleshoot, repair, test, and optimize equipment performance while supporting other departments as needed.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives within the Maintenance Program.
Respond promptly to facility alarms and implement corrective actions.
Coordinate maintenance activities with internal stakeholders to minimize operational downtime.
Oversee contractors and service providers during maintenance activities.
Utilize maintenance systems and controls, including CMMS (SAP), DeltaV, PI, PLCs, and Building Automation Systems (BAS).
Reporting to the Maintenance Manager/Supervisor, the Mechanic III is responsible for the maintenance and operation of production, process, refrigeration, HVAC, and site utility equipment in both GMP and non-GMP environments. This role serves as a key shop floor contributor, independently executing preventive and corrective maintenance activities to ensure reliable equipment performance and compliance with cGMP and regulatory standards.
