Position Overview
We are seeking a skilled Maintenance Technician to support a fast-paced manufacturing operation. This role is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing production equipment and facility systems including mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic components.
This is a hands-on role ideal for a self-starter who can work independently, manage time effectively, and maintain a strong focus on safety and equipment reliability.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance (PMs) on production equipment, forklifts, and facility systems
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues
- Maintain and service machinery through cleaning, lubrication, and adjustments
- Diagnose equipment malfunctions and determine root cause with minimal supervision
- Assist with electrical repairs (lighting, fuses, basic wiring) and minor carpentry/plumbing tasks
- Set up, remove, and store production molds per documented procedures
- Maintain and rebuild components such as fill guns and ejectors
- Conduct water treatment testing (pH, hardness, etc.) and document results
- Support maintenance inventory and interact with vendors/suppliers as needed
- Read and interpret schematics and technical manuals
- Follow work orders, job specifications, and complete all required documentation
- Support predictive and preventative maintenance programs to improve equipment uptime
- Adhere to all safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) and PPE requirements
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Assist with additional maintenance and facility tasks as assigned
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
- 2+ years of industrial maintenance experience
- Strong troubleshooting skills across mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Ability to read and interpret schematics and technical documents
- Experience with MRP/ERP work order systems
- Experience maintaining equipment such as air compressors, dryers, vacuum pumps, and low-pressure boilers
- Forklift maintenance experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Willingness to work overtime and attend after-hours work as needed
Physical Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and push/pull up to 50 lbs
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, kneel, and climb throughout the shift
- Comfortable working at heights and using ladders
- Ability to work in a manufacturing environment with noise, temperature changes, and moving machinery
- Must be able to wear required PPE (safety glasses, steel/composite toe boots, hearing protection, gloves)
