U.S. Facilities, Inc., a consolidated facility management/infrastructure service organization, is seeking a Maintenance Technician to work at our site in the Norfolk, VA area. The applicant will be responsible for the following:
- Maintenance workers are responsible for maintenance and repair work for movable bridges. Being a maintenance worker requires light trouble shooting abilities for a variety of different types of machinery and equipment like industrial machinery, electricity, plumbing, generators, etc. and occasionally janitorial or lawn maintenance.
Responsibilities
- Help installation, maintenance, and repair workers in maintenance, parts replacement, and repair of vehicles, industrial machinery, and electrical and electronic equipment. Perform duties such as furnishing tools, materials, and supplies to other workers; painting, general labor, cleaning work area, machines, and tools; and holding materials or tools for other workers.
- Provides Preventive maintenance service to machinery, generators, etc
- Provides daily and weekly inspection reports of equipment
- Required to be on call as needed

REQUIREMENTS:
Education/Training
High School Diploma or GED equivalent, computer training with Microsoft office background
Licenses, Certifications, Requirements
- CPR and First Aid certification must be obtained within 6 months of date of hire.
- Must pass a pre-employment criminal background check.
- Successful candidate must submit to post-offer, pre-employment physical examination and medical history check.
- Possession of a valid driver's license is a requirement for this job.
Working Conditions
- Considerable physical activity. Requires heavy physical work; heavy lifting, pushing, or pulling required of objects up to 50 pounds. Physical work is a primary part (more than 70%) of job.
- Work environment involves exposure to potentially dangerous materials and situations that require following extensive safety precautions and may include the use of protective equipment.
- Work involves almost constant exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, toxic chemicals, biohazardous materials, dirt, dust, fumes, smoke, and/or loud noises.
