The Facilities Team at Givens Estates, a leading continuing care retirement community in Asheville, has a Full-Time Maintenance Tech III - HVAC Technician position available. The primary purpose of your position is to provide maintenance services to the residents and employees for Givens Estates, to maintain the appearance of the campus so that it is presentable at all times, and to assure that the highest degree of quality care will be provided to our residents at all times.

The schedule for this position is Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm. with on-call duties

What you'll do:

• Work within the work order process to perform the most skilled residential tasks with minimal supervision and little or no assistance such as most minor plumbing repairs, light electrical repairs, carpentry skills etc
• Take a lead role on campus HVAC repairs; in-house repairs are preferential, engage and provide oversite of contractors as appropriate
• Be available to participate in on-call emergency maintenance requests at other than normal working hours, including holidays
• Able to maintain and operate facility equipment such as, generators, fire systems, nurse call systems, wandering systems, etc
• Perform any other duties and/or tasks that may be assigned on an as-needed basis by an authorized supervisor

What you'll need:

• High School or GED equivalent is preferred
• Must have, as a minimum, five years previous experience in a maintenance worker capacity
• Must have advanced certification in electrical, plumbing, HVAC or other maintenance areas
• Must possess general skills in carpentry, plumbing, painting, and electrical repairs
• Must possess a valid North Carolina Driver’s License

Compensation: $24.00 - $28.00 per hour based on background and experience, plus our comprehensive benefits package!
