Job Title: Maintenance Supervisor
Location: South Central PA
Reports To: Maintenance Manager / Plant Manager

Position Summary:
The Maintenance Supervisor will lead and coordinate the activities of the maintenance team to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of all plant equipment and facilities. This role requires strong hands-on technical knowledge and leadership skills to support heavy industrial production operations, maintain equipment uptime, and drive preventive maintenance initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Supervise, schedule, and direct daily activities of maintenance technicians to ensure timely completion of preventive and corrective maintenance tasks.

  • Provide hands-on troubleshooting and technical support for mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and basic electrical issues on production equipment and plant utilities.

  • Oversee equipment inspections, repairs, installations, and upgrades to minimize downtime and maximize production output.

  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) for equipment failures and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.

  • Ensure all maintenance work complies with OSHA and company safety standards, including Lockout/Tagout and confined space entry procedures.

  • Maintain and update CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) with accurate work order, parts usage, and equipment history data.

  • Collaborate with Production, Engineering, and Safety teams to support operational goals, capital projects, and continuous improvement initiatives.

  • Monitor and maintain inventory of critical spare parts, tools, and supplies to ensure readiness for emergency repairs and scheduled maintenance.

  • Train, mentor, and develop maintenance staff to build technical capabilities and promote a culture of safety, quality, and accountability.

  • Participate in budget planning for maintenance resources, supplies, and equipment upgrades.

  • Respond to maintenance emergencies as needed, including occasional off-shift or weekend support.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required; Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Industrial, or Electrical Engineering Technology preferred.

  • Minimum 5+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a heavy manufacturing environment, with at least 2 years in a supervisory or lead role.

  • Strong mechanical aptitude with working knowledge of hydraulics, pneumatics, welding, fabrication, gearboxes, conveyors, pumps, and industrial utilities.

  • Basic understanding of industrial electrical systems, PLC troubleshooting a plus.

  • Proficient in reading mechanical and electrical blueprints and schematics.

  • Experienced with CMMS systems, preventive maintenance planning, and root cause analysis methodologies.

  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.

  • Demonstrated commitment to safety, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

  • Ability to work flexible hours as required to support 24/7 operations.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, stoop, and lift up to 50 lbs.

  • Comfortable working in a heavy industrial environment, including exposure to heat, noise, dust, and moving machinery.
