The Opportunity

Maintenance Supervisor at a growth-oriented energy company

Assists the Refinery in maximizing and achieving effective maintenance performance through supervision and daily oversight of the execution of maintenance work. Responsible for front-line supervising of company and contract labor forces and ensuring execution of the daily work tasks as identified by the schedule.

Reporting to the Maintenance Superintendent - Execution, you will provide exemplary customer service to our clients.

Key activities include:

• Demonstrate a commitment to safety and promote safety culture. • Have a commitment to working safely and supporting company policies including the ability to follow procedures such as lockout/tagout. • Supervise and direct activities involved in the execution of maintenance work performed by Maintenance Department and contract personnel. • Supervise work activities in designated tech support and specialty areas to ensure cost effectiveness and maximum productivity. • Prioritize and assign work using the maintenance and repair work order system. • Maximize field oversight and streamline work processes to improve worker efficiency time on tools. • Provide leadership and coordinate with the Planning/Scheduling Group to maximize department performance and increase schedule performance. • Provide leadership to optimize preventative maintenance. • Ensure that all critical PM Compliance goals are met for designated area of responsibility. • Examine PMs with goal to optimize number and frequency to eliminate work and reduce costs. • Coach direct reports to improve their capability and skills. • Provide feedback to planningscheduling to improve maintenance plans and streamline execution workflow. • Optimize the balance of work between USOR Plant Maintenance personnel and contractor workforce for cost effectiveness. • Support Turnaround and Shutdown field supervision requirements as required. • This may require off-shift and weekend support. • Support emergency response efforts as required. • This may include emergency equipment repairs, fire, or spill response. • Attend daily and weekly maintenance schedule meetings. • Perform field audits of executed work results to be reported to supervisor. • Perform safety audits and report results to supervisor. • Attend the daily Operations AM Meeting and report the status of Maintenance Department activity on a regular rotating schedule. • Facilitate the monthly department safety meeting on a regular rotating schedule.

Qualifications

To meet the basic qualifications for this role, you will have:

• Legal authorization to work permanently in the United States for any employer without requiring a visa transfer or visa sponsorship. • Additional qualifications include: • A high school diploma or GED equivalent required • A strong background in maintenance or project management experience in an industrial setting • A strong background in providing mechanical maintenance and repair of pumps and compressors in oil & gas refining • Experience supervising pump mechanics • Good mechanical knowledge of equipment repair including • Knowledge of mechanical seals • General knowledge of maintenance tools and experience with balancing and alignment tools • Repairs on heavy equipment • API and/or ANSI standards associated with repairs of pumps and equipment • The ability to read and record all micrometer readings and use the decimal system in recording equipment measurements • Good organizational skills and the ability to communicate well • Must be able to work effectively and professionally with others • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, etc.) • Experience working with other scheduling software (e.g. Primavera, MS Project, etc.) preferred • Experience in using CMMS SAP preferred • Can work effectively with others, reach consensus, can lead meetings and get attendees to reach an agreeable conclusion • Supports management objectives • Can coach direct and develop direct reports • Can present and defend positions to higher management when required • Can determine the processes necessary to accomplish tasks, knows how to organize people and activities, understands how to separate and combine tasks into efficient workflow, knows what to measure and how to measure it, can see opportunities for synergy and integration where others cant, can simplify complex processes, gets more out of fewer resources • Uses rigorous logic and methods to solve difficult problems with effective solutions, probes all fruitful sources for answers, can see hidden problems, is excellent at honest analysis, looks beyond the obvious and doesnt stop at the first answer • Spends his/her time and the time of others on whats important, quickly zeros in on the critical few and puts the trivial many aside, can quickly sense what will help or hinder accomplishing a goal, eliminates roadblocks, creates focus • Can effectively cope with change, can shift gears comfortably, can decide and act without having the total picture, isnt upset when things are up in the air, doesnt have to finish things before moving on, can comfortably handle risk and uncertainty

Hiring Range

The hiring range for this position is $112,253 - $168,379 plus non-discretionary bonus. The candidate selected will be placed according to his/her skills and qualifications.
