Position: Maintenance Supervisor

Do you take pride in leading by example and working alongside your team? Manchester University is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to support daily operations for the North Manchester campus. This role combines in-the-field maintenance work with key supervisory duties-guiding staff, coordinating vendors, managing schedules, and supporting safety and preventive maintenance efforts. You'll help ensure our facilities, systems, and equipment remain safe, reliable, and efficient for our campus community.

What You''ll Do:

Hands-On Maintenance & Field Work: (70%) Work alongside the maintenance team in daily repair and upkeep of campus facilities, including HVAC, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, and general building systems. Troubleshoot equipment and respond to maintenance requests to ensure safe, efficient, and reliable operations. Monitor building systems, energy use, and equipment performance to identify issues and optimize functionality. Support seasonal operations such as snow removal, grounds tasks, and other campus-wide needs.

Supervisory & Administrative Responsibilities: (30%) Supervise, train, and schedule maintenance staff while ensuring quality, safety, and timely completion of work. Coordinate vendors and contractors for repairs, inspections, and project work. Oversee maintenance budgets, safety compliance, documentation, and preventive maintenance programs.

What You''ll Need: Bachelor's degree in building operations or equivalent hands-on experience. At least five years of maintenance or facilities experience, including leadership or supervisory roles. Strong initiative, problem-solving, and decision-making skills. Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and general building systems. Ability to perform physical maintenance tasks and work occasional evenings or weekends. Excellent communication and teamwork skills.
