Maintenance Supervisor – 1st Shift

Position Summary

We are seeking a hands-on Maintenance Supervisor to lead a team of Maintenance Technicians in a fast-paced manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for maximizing equipment uptime, improving asset reliability, coordinating maintenance activities, and developing team members. The ideal candidate is a strong leader with excellent troubleshooting abilities, a proactive mindset, and a commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Daily Operations

  • Lead, coach, and develop Maintenance Technicians to achieve safety, quality, and performance objectives.
  • Assign, prioritize, and coordinate daily maintenance activities and work orders.
  • Monitor team performance and communicate progress through visual management tools, performance metrics, and maintenance KPIs.
  • Foster a culture of accountability, teamwork, and continuous improvement.

Equipment Reliability & Maintenance

  • Coordinate emergency repairs and troubleshooting efforts to minimize downtime and restore production quickly.
  • Ensure preventive and predictive maintenance activities are completed effectively.
  • Drive downtime reduction initiatives and implement corrective actions to improve equipment reliability.
  • Verify repairs and machine performance through testing and validation with operations personnel.

Safety & Compliance

  • Promote and enforce all safety procedures, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO), PPE requirements, and safe work practices.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work environment through 5S principles.
  • Identify and address safety concerns while ensuring compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.

Planning & Coordination

  • Manage maintenance schedules, parts availability, and resource allocation to support production needs.
  • Coordinate repair activities and communication across shifts to ensure seamless maintenance operations.
  • Monitor work order completion and backlog to meet established performance targets.
  • Escalate critical equipment issues and downtime events to ensure timely resolution.

Continuous Improvement & Projects

  • Lead maintenance-related improvement projects from planning through implementation.
  • Utilize root cause analysis and problem-solving tools to identify and eliminate recurring equipment issues.
  • Promote Kaizen and continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, cost, and environmental performance.
  • Track project progress and communicate results to leadership.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree or Technical Degree in Maintenance, Industrial Technology, Electrical Technology, or a related field required.
  • 6+ years of industrial maintenance experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
  • 2+ years of leadership, supervisory, or team lead experience preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and automation systems.
  • Experience with CMMS systems, work order management, and preventive maintenance programs.
