The role may involve exposure to heat, noise, dust, vibration, moving machinery, electrical systems, chemicals, and industrial equipment. Regular interaction with production, engineering, contractors, and leadership teams is required. The position may require occasional off-shift, weekend, and after-hours support to address equipment breakdowns and operational needs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Lead, coach, develop, and manage maintenance technicians and skilled trades personnel.

  • Direct and coordinate maintenance activities for plant equipment, production systems, building infrastructure, and grounds.

  • Continuously improve preventative and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.

  • Establish maintenance priorities in partnership with Operations to ensure production requirements are met while minimizing downtime.

  • Manage department scheduling to ensure adequate maintenance coverage and support for all shifts.

  • Lead troubleshooting and repair efforts involving electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, robotic, and automation systems.

  • Support and coordinate equipment installations, relocations, rebuilds, upgrades, and capital improvement projects.

  • Collaborate with Engineering and machine builders on new equipment, rebuilt equipment, and process improvement initiatives, including design reviews and recommendations.

  • Oversee maintenance and operation of electrical switchgear, power distribution systems, boilers, air compressors, HVAC systems, cooling towers, sprinkler/fire protection systems, and other facility infrastructure.

  • Assist in locating, troubleshooting, and resolving equipment and facility breakdowns while ensuring proper documentation is completed.

  • Maintain an effective spare parts inventory and storeroom program to support operational requirements.

  • Monitor maintenance performance through key metrics including equipment uptime, downtime, MTTR, MTTF, PM completion rates, OEE, and maintenance costs.

  • Analyze equipment failures and implement root cause corrective actions to improve reliability and reduce recurring issues.

  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, efficiency, reliability, and cost reduction.

  • Support Lean Manufacturing, TPM, and operational excellence initiatives throughout the facility.

  • Conduct regular skills assessments of maintenance personnel, identify training needs, and develop technical training programs.

  • Maintain high standards of housekeeping, workplace organization, and safety compliance.

  • Lead facility audits and support OSHA, OEPA, environmental, fire protection, insurance, and regulatory inspections.

  • Partner with the EH&S team to ensure compliance with OSHA, environmental regulations, contractor safety requirements, and Tenneco standards.

  • Utilize CMMS and other maintenance management systems to plan, schedule, track, and document maintenance activities.

  • Provide leadership and guidance during after-hours maintenance emergencies and critical equipment failures.
