Location: Albany, NYCategory: Civil ServiceJob Type: Full-timePosted On: Mon Jun 1 2026Job Description Vacancy #: WF250308Apply by: June 12, 2024Title: Maintenance Supervisor 1Location: Residence Hall Maintenance ShopSalary: $56,506Grade: CSEA SG-14Hours: Monday - Friday, 7:00 AM - 3:30 PMDuration: Contingent/PermanentJob Requirements Minimum Qualifications One year of trade experience subsequent to the completion of an apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience such as that required for a Trades Specialist (Carpenter), Trades Specialist (Electrician), Service & Repair Mechanic (Electronics), Trades Generalist, Grounds Construction Supervisor, Trades Specialist (Locksmith), Trades Specialist (Machinist), Trades Specialist (Mason & Plasterer), Service & Repair Mechanic (Motor Equipment), Trades Specialist (Painter), Trades Specialist (Plumber & Steamfitter), Service & Repair Mechanic (HVAC-R), Trades Specialist (Roofing), or Trades Specialist (Welder). This position may be filled from a mandatory reemployment list if one is in effect at the time of appointment. Candidates may be expected to be qualified to use negative pressure respirators. Valid New York State driver's license required.Operating Needs Strong communication skills to lead staff and communicate effectively with Residential Life. Skilled or semi-skilled in the following trades: Plumbing, Electrical, Carpentry, and Door Hardware. Ability to navigate and use CMMS (AiM), Outlook, and other necessary computer programs. Knowledge of the University's purchasing process. Ability to review job orders, blueprints, and specifications and, as required, visit the project site to determine dimensions, materials, and labor required to complete the project. Ability to lift 50 pounds. Ability to walk stairs. Ability to work from ladders. Ability to deal with and manage emergency maintenance situations and respond to Residential Life with updates, as well as assist staff with the remedy of the emergency.
