A large industrial manufacturing facility is hiring a Maintenance Superintendent to lead maintenance operations within a critical production area. This role is responsible for driving equipment reliability, leading a multi-level maintenance team, and improving overall maintenance performance through structured systems and continuous improvement.

Job Details

What you will do

Lead and develop a team of maintenance supervisors, planners, and technicians, setting expectations and driving performance
Oversee both planned and unplanned maintenance activities to ensure consistent production uptime
Implement and sustain reliability-focused maintenance practices to improve equipment performance and reduce downtime
Drive a culture of root cause problem solving across the maintenance organization
Develop and execute long-term maintenance strategies that optimize labor, materials, and overall efficiency
Partner with operations, engineering, and other departments to align maintenance efforts with production goals
Establish and monitor key performance metrics tied to reliability, cost, and maintenance effectiveness
Manage department budgets, forecasts, and cost improvement initiatives
Support safety programs and ensure compliance with regulatory and internal standards across all maintenance activities
Build relationships with external vendors and service providers to support maintenance operations


What you bring

Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in a technical or engineering discipline
Experience in a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment
Prior leadership experience managing maintenance teams or supervisors
Strong understanding of maintenance operations, equipment reliability, and continuous improvement
Ability to lead cross-functional collaboration and drive accountability


Nice to have

Experience in structured reliability or maintenance systems
Background working in a union environment
Mechanical and electrical knowledge within industrial systems
Experience managing budgets and driving cost reduction initiatives
Strong leadership, coaching, and team development experience


Schedule + Environment

Day shift leadership role within a high-demand production environment
High visibility across operations, maintenance, and leadership teams
Requires responsiveness to plant needs and occasional off-hours support
