Maintenance Specialist - HIRING IMMEDIATELY - Bridgeview, IL

 

Compensation: Hourly pay rate $35.23 to $47.73 (Based on Experience) - paid weekly

 

Shift Available: Days (M-F 7am - 3:30pm) 

 

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Perform all work in accordance with established safety procedures, including lock-out/tag-out. - Maintains a clean and orderly work area.
  • Communicate problems encountered throughout the shift and report carry-over items at tier 1 meeting
  • Dismantles machinery to gain access to and remove/repair defective parts.
  • Follow OSHA and Novolex safety rules and requirements all time with special attention to lock out- tag out procedure.
  • Efficiently tracks daily work and time spent on each job and correctly summarizes the time spent on each work category at day's end utilizing the Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
  • Works with Parts Inventory Clerk to initiate purchase orders for parts and equipment, and for replenishing inventory when needed.
  • Evaluates and recommends improvements in methods, procedures and processes.
  • Performs PM's as assigned · Performs all work utilizing Good Manufacturing Practices.
  • Operates any equipment needed to perform job, including fork truck, man-lifts, and elevated work.
  • Performs other related duties to contribute to the success of the operation as assigned by the Shift Supervisor or Technical Engineering team.
  • Thorough knowledge of mechanical devices and apparatus with advanced skills in repairing mechanical equipment.
  • Examine mechanical equipment to diagnose problems. Disassemble, repair/replace and maintain machinery and mechanical equipment including such devises as motors, conveyors, pumps, belts, chains, etc
  • Read mechanical prints and technical data during the installation and repair of equipment. In addition, the ability read and interpret PI&D drawings are a plus
  • Repair parts that require minor machine work or welding when needed
  • Use precision measuring tools/devices, hand tools, and testing instruments
  • Inspect all completed work and notify personal when job is complete
  • Lead and oversee the implementation of the company’s preventative maintenance program. Ensure that all equipment and systems are maintained on a regular schedule, documenting repairs, parts replacements, and overall equipment performance

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:

The ideal candidate for position will have a high school diploma or GED, with a preference for an Associate’s Degree or technical certification in Industrial Maintenance, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field. In addition, candidates should have at least 5-10 years of hands-on experience in industrial maintenance or a similar role, with advanced knowledge in troubleshooting, diagnosing, and repairing complex mechanical, electrical, and automated systems. Supervisory experience and a proven ability to lead and mentor junior technicians is highly preferred. Experience in managing and implementing preventative maintenance programs to ensure equipment reliability and reduce downtime is also essential. Relevant certifications such as Certified Maintenance Manager (CMM) or Certified Maintenance Technician (CMRT) are a plus.

 

MECHANICAL SKILLS:

High degree of knowledge of equipment and aptitude for understanding mechanical systems through formal training and/or education. Be able to perform repairs. Uses and/or make special attachments when necessary. Certifies to operate forklift. Trained in lock out/tag out procedures.

 

REASONING ABILITIY:

The job requires making decisions based on established guidelines related to identifying and addressing defective work and operational issues. The candidate will plan repair procedures to ensure efficient job completion. They must be able to apply common sense to follow both detailed and simple written or verbal instructions and handle problems involving concrete variables in standardized situations. The role also demands a high level of creativity and resourcefulness in solving various maintenance challenges.

  • Minimal 8.0 hour shifts/ or 12 hour rotating shift schedule.
  • Required to stand & walk continually.
  • Frequent lifting up to 10 pounds, occasionally will lift & carry up to 40 pounds and occasional assisted lifting & carrying up to 100 pounds.
  • Frequent pushing/pulling up to 40 pounds.
  • Frequent bending, stooping, kneeling & reaching.
  • Frequent repetitive finger movement.
