Lallie Kemp Regional Medical Center is a 24-bed acute care critical access hospital serving the Florida Parishes region of Southeast Louisiana. We offer a wide range of services including general surgery and a 24-hour emergency department. Were currently seeking a Maintenance Repairer 1-2 to join our Facility Management Department. This position performs preventative maintenance on boilers and related equipment.

Minimum Qualifications

One year of experience or training in the building construction trades, building maintenance, maintenance or repair of mechanical equipment, or park operations and grounds maintenance; OR

Six semester hours in construction management, construction technology, or engineering, or any combination of these courses.

Job Duties and Other Information

Job Duties:

  • Start, operate and check for safety and maintenance of a wide variety of small engines, lawn mowers, hand tools, pumps, chainsaws, pick-up trucks, tractors, farm machinery and implements.
  • Maintain and perform minor repairs to small lawnmowers, appliances, chainsaws, pumps, cars, tractors, including lubricant levels, timing, replacing and adjusting minor worn or damaged parts, including but not limited to belts, plugs, fuses, and hoses.
  • Perform basic road maintenance by clearing drainage, spreading road surface material, filling pot holes, placement of signs, repairing fences, removing trees, etc.
  • Maintain and clean grounds. Cut grass using tractor, lawnmower, and weed-eater. Trim tree and clear ditches.
  • Perform minor repairs to the interior/exterior of buildings and facilities and maintain furniture and equipment employing basic skills in the plumbing, carpentry, electrical, mechanical and related fields.
  • Attend Educational In-Services, Mandatory Training and Annual Review as required by hospital policy and procedure, or deemed necessary by supervisor. Any and all other duties as assigned to include ensuring departmental coverage.

About this job: The Maintenance Repairer 1-2 is a full-time probational appointment.

Career Progression: As part of a Career Progression Group, vacancies may be filled from this recruitment as a Maintenance Repairer 1-2 depending on the level of experience of the selected applicant(s).

Work Location: Facility Management Department

Shift: Monday - Friday 7am-3:30 pm

Compensation: The minimum hire rate for the Maintenance Repairer 1 is $17.18 hourly. The minimum hire rate for the Maintenance Repairer 2 is $19.67 hourly.
