Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Maintenance Planner to support maintenance planning and work management activities at a power generation facility in Wheatfield, IN. This role is responsible for developing detailed maintenance work packages, coordinating maintenance schedules, supporting outage planning, and ensuring safe, reliable, and cost-effective execution of maintenance activities. The ideal candidate has experience in power generation, utilities, industrial manufacturing, or heavy industrial environments and is comfortable spending significant time in the field.

Required Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in a power plant, utility, industrial, manufacturing, construction, maintenance, operations, or related technical environment.
• Strong understanding of maintenance planning, work management, industrial operations, or construction processes.
• Experience developing detailed maintenance work packages and coordinating maintenance activities.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to spend significant time performing field walk-downs and coordinating work activities.
• Experience using computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS).
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel and Word.
• Strong organizational, communication, and planning skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively across maintenance, operations, engineering, and contractor teams.
• Understanding of maintenance planning, scheduling, and work management processes.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Industrial Technology, Business, or a related field.
• Experience in power generation, utilities, heavy industrial facilities, manufacturing, or large-scale construction projects.
• Knowledge of Master Standard Data or engineered benchmark standards.
• Experience planning outages, maintenance shutdowns, or capital projects.
• Experience with enterprise systems such as Maximo, SAP, Ariba, or similar maintenance and asset management platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop detailed maintenance work packages, including procedures, drawings, material lists, equipment clearances, and required documentation.
• Coordinate maintenance schedules with operations and maintenance teams to ensure efficient work execution.
• Support environmental compliance by prioritizing maintenance activities for environmental equipment and systems.
• Prepare and issue equipment clearance requests while ensuring compliance with plant safety procedures.
• Assist with maintenance supervision during supervisor absences as needed.
• Respond to emergency maintenance calls outside normal working hours when required.
• Develop work scopes, bid specifications, and manage contractor-performed work.
• Track project costs and labor to ensure maintenance work remains within budget.
• Coordinate with Materials and Contract Services for procurement and contractor support.
• Prepare labor and cost estimates for maintenance work and backlog planning.
• Support capital and operating budget planning for long-term equipment reliability.
• Assist with outage planning and maintenance scheduling activities.
• Support equipment troubleshooting and operational reliability initiatives.
• Perform routine field walk-downs to validate work scope, identify hazards, and improve maintenance execution.
