The Maintenance Parts & Materials Specialist is responsible for managing, organizing and controlling spare parts & consumables inventory to support continuous operations in a nitrile glove manufacturing plant. This role ensures critical mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and automation spare parts are available, properly stored, accurately tracked and issued in a timely manner to minimize downtime and support preventive and corrective maintenance activities. In addition, the specialist analyzes usage trends, maintenance plans, and equipment reliability data to forecast future parts requirements, ensuring optimal inventory levels and proactive availability of long‑lead or critical components. This position plays a key role in maintaining a reliable supply of essential parts, optimizing stock levels, and ensuring smooth coordination with procurement processes.

Key Responsibilities

Inventory & Parts Room Management

  • Maintain accurate inventory levels for all spare parts, consumables and maintenance materials.
  • Receive, inspect, label and store incoming parts according to AN's internal process.
  • Monitor stock levels & initiate purchase orders to prevent shortages or overstocking.
  • Conduct regular cycle counts and reconcile discrepancies.
  • Ensure critical & long lead time spare parts are identified, stocked and monitored.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and well‑organized parts room environment.

Parts Issuance & Support

  • Issue spare parts to maintenance technicians as needed and record usage in CMMS.
  • Work closely with maintenance, engineering and production teams to understand equipment needs.
  • Prepare parts kits for scheduled work orders and preventive maintenance tasks.

Procurement & Vendor Coordination

  • Create purchase requisitions and coordinate with the procurement team to source parts, tools, and supplies.
  • Communicate with vendors to obtain quotes, lead times, and technical specifications.
  • Track open orders and follow up to ensure timely delivery.
  • Evaluate supplier performance and support cost saving initiatives.

CMMS & Data Accuracy

  • Ensure all parts, inventory transactions and stock levels are accurately recorded in CMMS.
  • Update part numbers, descriptions, photos and vendor information as needed in CMMS for all the assets.
  • Support maintenance planner by providing accurate parts availability for upcoming work.
  • Generate inventory usage, consumption trend and cost reports as needed.

Parts Forecasting

  • Analyze historical usage data, equipment maintenance trends, and production schedules to forecast future parts requirements.
  • Identify long‑lead‑time or high‑risk components and develop proactive stocking strategies.
  • Collaborate with Production, Maintenance and Engineering to anticipate parts needed for preventive maintenance, shutdowns, and equipment upgrades.
  • Recommend adjustments to safety stock levels based on consumption patterns, equipment reliability, and seasonal production demands.
  • Support budgeting and cost‑planning activities by projecting quarterly & annual parts consumption and spend.

Safety & Compliance

  • Enforce safety protocols, including Lockout/Tagout (LOTO) procedures and OSHA compliance.
  • Conduct safety audits and ensure proper use of PPE by all maintenance personnel.
  • Support audits and compliance requirements related to inventory, storage and maintenance operations

Continuous Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime and lower maintenance costs.
  • Promote lean maintenance practices and support company-wide improvement initiatives.
  • Assist in standardizing spare parts and reducing obsolete inventory.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Logistics, Mechanical/Electrical Engineering or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 3+ years of experience in parts coordination, inventory control, warehouse operations or maintenance support.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, pneumatic and automation systems.
  • Experience with CMMS software and maintenance planning best practices.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, record keeping and organizational skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics and manuals.
  • Basic computer skills (MS Excel, inventory software)

Working Conditions

Work is primarily performed in a manufacturing environment with regular exposure to machinery, moderate noise and industrial chemicals. The role requires frequent walking, standing and occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs. Strict adherence to PPE and safety protocols is mandatory.
