Washington State Department of Transportation (WSDOT) is currently seeking a Maintenance & Operations Superintendent to lead and oversee maintenance operations for Area 2 – Mount Vernon, supporting a growing population of approximately 300,000 residents. In this role, the Superintendent will strategically assess business needs, direct operational resources, and make long-term capital investment and budget decisions to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the highway system. This position coordinates with internal and external partners, including cities, counties, tribal governments, and federal agencies, to support major transportation and maintenance projects, emergency response efforts, and weather-related operations. The Superintendent also oversees maintenance programs related to environmental compliance, integrated vegetation management, and stewardship of Area 2 land holdings. A strong candidate will possess exceptional leadership, strategic planning, communication, and partnership-building skills, along with the ability to balance complex operational and construction priorities.
