Position Title: Maintenance Mechanic

Reports to: Director of Buildings & Grounds
Supervises: N.A.
Position Summary: The Maintenance Mechanic works throughout the District and is responsible for maintenance repairs involving multiple trade disciplines. This position is District Wide. The vehicle is at City DPW & Home base is at East High School.
Essential Job Functions:
General Maintenance:
Performs routine maintenance of buildings and grounds (e.g. ceilings, flooring, wall hangings, lockers, doors, carpentry, exterior and interior repairs)
Makes minor equipment repairs
Maintains the preventative maintenance schedule
Tends to low pressure boilers, heating, ventilating, air conditioning, and other mechanical systems
Evaluates and make minor repairs to HVAC Equipment; pneumatic and digital system
Performs general plumbing maintenance
Tends to minor maintenance repairs and reports back to supervisor
Professional Responsibilities:
Participates in professional development activities
Provides necessary care and management of school property, including money, equipment, materials, and facilities
Oversees inventory of products and supplies
Addresses emergency situations
Plans and coordinates the work of paraprofessionals and volunteers in conjunction with school-related activities
Serves as role model for students in how to conduct themselves as citizens and as responsible, intelligent human beings
Complies with the following requirement: The employee shall remain free of any alcohol or non-prescribed controlled substance in the workplace throughout his/her employment in the District.
