Qualifications:
General knowledge of housing maintenance practices, at least two-years work experience with building maintenance and general repairs preferred
Experience in operating hand and power tools
Experience with motorized equipment and vehicles
Ability to lift/move heavy objects, and work outdoors in adverse weather conditions
Ability to understand and record written information
Ability to communicate effectively and process work order documents/paperwork efficiently in the housing authority’s software
Interact with residents in a responsive, responsible manner
Willingness to participate in related training opportunities both virtually and in person.
Willingness to work within the housing directives established by the Executive Director, the state’s Office of Housing and Livable Communities and US Dept of HUD
Must have

-basic computer literacy
-Valid MA driver's license maintained while employed

The maintenance team is responsible for agency wide apartment turnovers, preventive maintenance, building and grounds upkeep and emergency repairs. Maintenance and repair duties include
custodial functions
grounds-keeping including landscaping and snow removal
minimal masonry
minor carpentry, plumbing, appliance repairs and electrical work
painting
completing work orders in occupied units
turnover of vacant units
outdoor work in all weather conditions
Each maintenance employee is responsible for timely response to after-hours/weekend emergencies on a rotating basis
Snow removal is required and is considered an “all hands-on deck” effort
