Maintenance Mechanic

Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Maintenance Mechanic to oversee equipment and personnel within an assigned building. This role is crucial in promoting efficiency and ensuring the maintenance of high standards in uptime, labor hours, repairs, and preventive maintenance completion. The successful candidate will follow standard operating procedures and meet quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Provide general oversight and responsibility for equipment and personnel within the assigned building.
• Strive to promote efficiency in all aspects of the building's operations.
• Track and evaluate performance against enterprise and national benchmarks.
• Follow standard operating procedures and meet quality standards.
• Ensure excellent attendance and punctuality.
• Meet or exceed the plant uptime goal of 98%.
• Maintain a building call response time of 2 minutes or less.
• Actively patrol the assigned building to proactively address equipment issues.
• Report all major issues to the Chief Engineer and Production Manager and assist with resolution.
• Establish and maintain a positive working relationship between the building maintenance crew and the production team.
• Ensure 100% completion of assigned tasks.
• Follow all company safety rules, policies, and procedures.
• Work well with a diverse workforce.
• Maintain a positive attitude.
• Be prepared to work beyond the scheduled hours as issues may arise.
• Perform physically demanding tasks, including lifting and moving objects heavier than 50 lbs regularly.
• Adapt to a warm plant environment during certain times of the year and be able to walk and stand for the entire shift.
• Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
