Summary:

  • Location: Liberty, SC
  • Shift hours: 7:30 AM - 5:30 PM (Tues- Fri)

Responsibilities:

  • Handle comfort complaints, preventive maintenance, and repair of ice machines, refrigerators, freezer units, low temperature refrigeration systems, environmental chambers, incubators, air dryers, lab heating and cooling equipment, dehumidifiers, and stability chambers.
  • Work on HVAC/R systems, equipment, and control systems.
  • Troubleshoot mechanical problems and perform repairs to return equipment to operation in a timely manner.
  • Apply sound judgment in matters pertaining to customer satisfaction and quality of services performed.
  • Provide skilled trade maintenance support to manufacturing, R&D, and office facilities.
  • Independently perform maintenance work on a variety of HVAC/R equipment and systems, including production, laboratory, and facility equipment.
  • Perform mechanical, pipefitting, building maintenance, and other assigned trade work.
  • Serve as a lead person for crews of two or more tradespersons on larger projects when assigned.
  • Ensure GMP and safe work policies and procedures are followed and maintained.
  • Participate in team meetings and identify opportunities to improve productivity, reduce costs, and increase customer satisfaction.
  • Troubleshoot equipment, order parts, and install components on motors, circulation fans, air conditioners, air handlers, compressors, pumps, chillers, boilers, and related equipment.
  • Perform preventive and demand maintenance on plant HVAC/R equipment, including fans, valves, actuators, and variable air volume controllers.
  • Install bearings, seals, belts, gaskets, and related components using gauges, leak detectors, torque wrenches, multimeters, amp meters, and other test equipment.
  • Perform mechanical overhauls and preventive maintenance on plant HVAC equipment.
  • Apply HVAC/R control theory and air handling system principles in commercial and industrial environments.
  • Perform brazing and soldering of heating and cooling coils and related components.
  • Troubleshoot and repair refrigeration systems and install refrigeration equipment and accessories according to engineering standards.
  • Evaluate resources and make decisions regarding safety and company standards and policies.
  • Utilize CMMS functions related to refrigeration maintenance, preventive maintenance, and maintenance activities.
  • Maintain systems in accordance with quality assurance specifications and compliance requirements.
  • Coordinate maintenance work with Production Management as required.
  • Follow operating instructions and safety policies while performing maintenance activities.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma / GED
  • Minimum 5 years of formal training and work experience in commercial or industrial HVAC/R system maintenance.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in all aspects of HVAC/R system equipment maintenance.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a commercial and/or industrial work environment.

Preferred Skills:

  • Federal EPA certification for operation of refrigerant reclaiming equipment and proper usage and disposal of refrigerants preferred.
