Compensation


Hourly Rate: $30.29/Hour start and 90 Day full rate of$33.88/Hour

Role Overview


The Extrusion Machine Mechanic (Maintenance Mechanic) will oversee mechanical repairs, preventive maintenance, and troubleshooting of production machinery, including extrusion fabrication equipment. This role is pivotal in supporting plant operations and ensuring that our equipment performs reliably to meet production standards. - Mechanic MUST have tools and toolbox - Must have 480v electrical experience. Able to trouble shoot and repair electrical control boxes for machines


Responsibilities:

  1. Work with Plant Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor and Lead to complete mechanical repairs and maintenance tasks
  2. Take periodic inventories of maintenance supplies, tools and prepare ordering information for purchasing by Supervisor.
  3. Visual inspection of maintenance jobs in progress and upon completion to ensure that quality standards are being met.
  4. Conduct preventive maintenance and lubrication on production machinery and other plant equipment and facilities in accordance with the preventive maintenance program.
  5. Build and install new equipment for plant improvement projects and make new tooling and equipment for replacement of worn-out items.
  6. Repair broken or defective equipment as scheduled
  7. Assist production personnel with mechanical, electrical or other operational problems with any plant equipment.
  8. Assist in performance of emergency maintenance work on a rush basis when production is adversely affected or directed by Maintenance Supervisor.
  9. Maintain preventive maintenance, tools and parts, and training records which are necessary. Prepare periodic status reports from these records as necessary.
  10. Originate necessary work orders and plan, schedule and expedite completion of such work orders as approved by the Maintenance Mechanic Supervisor. Maintain work order log and files and prepare periodic status reports.
  11. Attend training programs or sessions to improve level of knowledge and skills consistent with the other job requirements.
  12. Inform Supervisor of needed parts, equipment or training requirements
  13. Keep work area and equipment in a clean and orderly condition at all possible times
  14. Wear and maintain in good condition all personal safety devices required and work in a safe and efficient manner at all times
  15. Develop and maintain a good attendance and employment record
  16. Any and all other duties outlined and requested by immediate supervisor

Requirements

  • Education: High School diploma or equivalent; technical certification or relevant trade qualification preferred
  • 3-5 years minimum of Proven mechanic and electrical experience
  • Strong knowledge of manufacturing equipment, machinery and systems
  • Proficient in diagnosing mechanical, electrical and pneumatic equipment issues
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics and blueprints
  • Excellent organizational skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate effectively with various departments
