MOLDING PRODUCTS, LLC in South Bend, Indiana was established in 1978, supplying custom-formulated sheet molding compounds (SMC) to the compression molding industry. The company expanded their capabilities to include a prototype mold service, which provides solutions for its customers' ideas - from concept to the final product. This enables Molding Products to assist customers with on-site evaluations, mold design, and construction. The molding shape industries such as marine, communication, transportation, sporting goods, aerospace, and medical.
We have openings for a Maintenance Mechanic at our manufacturing facility located in South Bend, IN.
Major Areas of Accountability:
· Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair existing plant equipment (Includes pumps, valves, process lines, etc). · Ensure that equipment is operating satisfactorily. · Work closely with other departmental Mechanics to keep equipment and facilities in good repair. · Work closely with Production and perform work in a safe and efficient manner. · Promote total quality and safety. · Order parts from approved vendor under the direction of the Maintenance Supervisor. · Work effectively as a crewmember of a team and maintain good working relations with others.
Ideal Candidate:
· Possess the necessary skills to be proficient in tasks with minimal supervision. · Must have experience and knowledge in the following areas: (a) Preventive maintenance of process equipment (i.e. boiler, air compressors, cooling tower, etc). (b) Repair and adjustments for standard drive equipment, such as motors and pumps. (c) Demonstrable understanding of instrumentation/controls. · Demonstrate ability to follow oral and written instructions. · Ability to identify and troubleshoot problems in the following areas: Welding Plumbing Electrical Pipefitting Machinery/Equipment Maintenance · Ability to read blue prints, understand mechanical manuals and/or electrical schematics. · Ability to identify and troubleshoot problems in at least 3 of the following areas: Welding Plumbing Electricity Pipefitting Carpentry Machinery / Equipment Maintenance · Ability to lift 50 pounds, drive a forklift, lift, stand, walk, climb stairs and ladders, and work in confined spaces. · Ability to wear personal protective equipment such as safety glasses, steel toe shoes, hard hat, gloves, and respirator. · Ability to work in extreme heat and humidity as well as outdoors in all weather conditions. · Have a high school degree or equivalent. (Required). · Maintenance: 1 year (desired)
