Location Notice: This position is currently based at our existing facility in West Valley City, Utah. Our operations are expected to relocate to Provo, Utah, in the future. Candidates must be able and willing to work at the current location during the transition and relocate to the Provo facility when operations move. Flexibility and the ability to adapt to this future change are required as a condition of employment.

SUMMARY

The Maintenance Manager oversees the day-to-day maintenance and repair operations of the organization’s facilities, equipment, and machinery through planning, coordinating, and directing all maintenance activities to ensure machine reliability and minimizing unexpected downtime. Bilingual fluency in English and Spanish is required.

  • Know and understand equipment operation, set-up and all necessary adjustments by reading equipment manuals and participating in the set-up process,
  • Plan, prioritize, assign, supervise, review, and participate in the work of staff responsible for maintenance in the production department.
  • Establish schedules and methods for providing maintenance services; identify resource needs; review needs with appropriate management staff; allocate resources accordingly.
  • Participate in the development of goals and objectives as well as policies and procedures; make recommendations for changes and improvements to existing standards, policies, and procedures; Participate in the implementation of approved policies and procedures; monitor work activities to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures.
  • Monitor and control supplies, order supplies and tools as necessary.
  • Train or coordinate training in facility maintenance and safety methods, procedures, and techniques.
  • Understanding of all department GMP guidelines.
  • Understanding and application of all department SOP’s.
  • General maintenance of equipment used in the manufacturing areas.
  • Set up production equipment on all filling lines.
  • Electrical and mechanical repairs.
  • Diagnosis to component level of equipment.
  • Motivate, inspire, and empower maintenance technicians. Share company vision and set clear goals.
  • Encourage teamwork and continuous communication. Give positive feedback while also listening to and understanding employees’ concerns.
  • Effectively communicate maintenance procedures, safety requirements, and operational expectations in both English and Spanish.

QUALIFICATIONS

Knowledge of:

Operations, services, and activities of a production maintenance, training and repair program.

Materials, methods, terminology, equipment and tools used in the maintenance, repair/

Principles of supervision, training, and performance evaluation.

Basic principles budget preparation and administration.

Equipment, tools and materials used in facility maintenance activities.

Construction and project management principles.

Principles and practices of safety management.

Ability to:

Organize, implement, and direct production maintenance operations and activities.

Supervise, train and evaluate assigned staff.

Interpret and explain pertinent department policies and procedures.

Perform the most complex maintenance duties and operate related equipment.

Develop and recommend systems and procedures related to assigned operations.

Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.

Effectively communicate with and lead a bilingual workforce in both English and Spanish.

Education and Experience:

Education/Training:

High School diploma or equivalent.

Two years of supervisory training, management, or a related field.

5S, six Sigma methodologies.

Experience:

5-7 years of increasingly responsible maintenance experience including supervisory experience.

Engineering experience preferred. (Degree or on the job training)

Language Requirement:

Required: Fluent bilingual communication skills in both English and Spanish (verbal and written).

License or Certificate:

HAZCOM

Fall protection Training

Possession of an appropriate Forklift operator training.
