Maintenance Manager | Traverse City, MI

Salary Range: $87,000 - $128,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the planning and execution of all maintenance activities, including preventative, predictive, and corrective maintenance.
  • Develop and manage the maintenance budget, ensuring cost-effectiveness and optimal resource allocation.
  • Lead and mentor a team of maintenance technicians, fostering a culture of safety, continuous improvement, and high performance.
  • Implement and maintain a robust Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to track assets, schedule work, and analyze performance.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to identify and resolve recurring equipment issues, improving overall equipment effectiveness (OEE).
  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations, environmental standards, and company policies.
  • Manage relationships with external vendors and contractors for specialized repairs and services.
Recommended Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Facilities Management, or a related technical field.
  • 7+ years of progressive experience in maintenance leadership within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated expertise in CMMS software and maintenance best practices (e.g., TPM, RCM, PdM).
  • Proven track record of managing and developing skilled trades teams.
  • Strong understanding of OSHA regulations and industrial safety standards.
Bonus Qualifications
  • CMRP or similar certification in maintenance and reliability.
  • Experience implementing and optimizing CMMS systems beyond basic functionality.
  • Proven track record in lean manufacturing or continuous improvement initiatives within a maintenance context.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and mentor maintenance teams, fostering a culture of safety and excellence.
