Maintenance Manager

Description

Under the direction of plant leadership, the Maintenance Manager oversees skilled and semi skilled personnel responsible for maintaining facility infrastructure, grounds, and production equipment. This role provides leadership across mechanical and electrical systems, ensuring reliable plant operations. Responsibilities also include coordinating external vendors once services are contracted and supporting overall equipment performance across the facility.

This position requires strong hands on experience within a metal manufacturing environment. A solid background in PLC programming, troubleshooting, and interfacing across multiple pieces of equipment is essential. The Maintenance Manager will also coordinate schedules for equipment repairs, preventative maintenance, and required inspections tied to licenses and permits.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, rebuild, and maintain equipment controls including PCs, PLCs, and custom control systems
• Program and troubleshoot electronic control circuits supporting specialty production equipment
• Work with a range of components including servos, encoders, relays, light curtains, switches, sensors, optical readers, and variable or discrete I/O systems
• Interface and integrate multiple control systems across production equipment
• Troubleshoot and repair PC hardware and network related equipment
• Interpret and develop PLC ladder logic and associated control circuits
• Lead and support projects across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and basic carpentry scopes, including development of bills of materials
• Perform routine maintenance and repair of plant equipment and facility systems
• Utilize hand tools and standard tool room equipment as needed
• Maintain forklift operation certification and comply with equipment safety requirements
• Track and manage equipment repair costs
• Perform welding and brazing for equipment repair and fabrication

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Hands on experience working with pneumatic, hydraulic, and electrical systems
• Strong working knowledge of PLCs and electrical control circuits
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics and circuit drawings
• Experience troubleshooting both equipment and control systems in a manufacturing environment

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field preferred
• 2 to 5 years of experience in plant, equipment, or maintenance management
• Experience in metal fabrication or welded assembly environments strongly preferred

Knowledge and Skills

• Solid understanding of engineering principles and manufacturing processes
• Familiarity with plant maintenance practices and equipment repair techniques
• Ability to supervise and direct maintenance activities including planning and scheduling
• Strong problem solving skills with the ability to work independently
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, across teams and departments
• Ability to maintain accurate records and reports while managing time and resources efficiently

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $36.00 - $40.00/hr.
