Description

Coordinate the daily maintenance and repair of furnaces and equipment to ensure continuity of production, efficient and productive workflow and good communication between maintenance and production personnel.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Schedule and supervise the Maintenance Department work to ensure that plant equipment breakdowns are repaired in a timely manner and that all equipment is maintained and improved to promote the efficient production of parts.
  • Oversee and guarantee the purchasing and shipment of maintenance materials and supplies.
  • Coordinate and assure follow through to completion projects assigned by the Corporate Engineering Department.
  • Contract with and supervise the work of outside contractors as required.
  • Maintain and update all maintenance files, including blueprints, vendor literature and equipment manufacturer's operating/maintenance instructions.
  • Generate a weekly schedule of work for each maintenance mechanic.
  • Schedule regular preventive maintenance of equipment to ensure uninterrupted production where possible.
  • Coordinate Maintenance Department work schedule with the production schedule.
  • Ensure quality performance of maintenance personnel.
  • Coordinate, evaluate and document equipment corrective action.
  • Provide for continuous quality improvement of equipment and tools.
  • Strive to improve the productivity of the Maintenance Department.
  • Communicate daily with the Plant Manager regarding maintenance concerns and priorities.
  • Ensure that all testing equipment remains in good working order.
  • Coordinate the moving of office furniture and/or supplies to various office locations.
  • Accurately complete purchase orders.
  • Responsible to ensure that all pyrometry and calibration testing is scheduled and completed to compliance calendar.
Qualifications

Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Diploma required.
  • 2-year technical degree or equivalent experience.
  • 3+ year of maintenance supervisory experience with a strong electrical background and strong mechanical aptitude.
  • Thorough knowledge of electrical and electronics, pipe fitting, instrumentation, temperature control devices, and welding.
  • Strong supervisory and organizational skills.
  • Knowledge of industrial furnaces and material handling equipment preferred.
  • Must be able to respond to emergency situations in a timely manner.

License(s)/Certification(s) Required:

  • Valid driver's license and acceptable Motor Vehicle Record in compliance with Paulo's Vehicle Use Policy.
