This role is responsible for leading and transforming a plant-wide maintenance function to improve equipment reliability, reduce downtime, and strengthen operational performance. The position drives the development of preventative maintenance systems, builds team capability, and establishes disciplined processes across a large, 24/7 manufacturing environment.

Description
This role reports directly into the Plant Manager and is responsible for:
- Leading the maintenance function across a multi-shift, 24/7 manufacturing operation
- Driving a cultural transformation from reactive maintenance to proactive, reliability-focused practices
- Developing and implementing preventative and predictive maintenance programs across a diverse equipment base
- Establishing robust processes, standards, and accountability within the maintenance team
- Managing a sizeable, long-tenured workforce while building leadership capability at all levels
- Collaborating closely with operations to reduce downtime and improve overall equipment effectiveness
- Evaluating and integrating new technologies to enhance efficiency and reduce costs
- Managing maintenance budgets and capital projects, ensuring effective resource allocation
- Strengthening safety, quality, and environmental compliance through best practices
- Supporting continuous improvement initiatives and plant-wide performance objectives
Profile
A successful candidate will have
- Extensive experience in maintenance leadership within a high-volume manufacturing environment
- Proven ability to implement preventative maintenance and reliability programs (e.g., CMMS, FMEA, RCM)
- Strong leadership skills with experience managing large, multidisciplinary teams
- Demonstrated success in driving cultural and operational change
- Hands-on, floor-oriented leadership style with strong credibility among technical teams
- Solid understanding of mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and automated systems
- Experience managing budgets, KPIs, and performance metrics
- Degree or equivalent experience in mechanical, electrical, or related engineering discipline
