Our client is seeking a hands-on Maintenance Manager to oversee maintenance operations for a lumber and pallet manufacturing facility in Jamesville, NY. This role is responsible for maintaining equipment reliability, managing preventive maintenance programs, coordinating repairs, and overseeing parts inventory.
Please Note: This position is currently based in Jamesville, NY. The company plans to relocate operations to Blossvale, NY within approximately 20 months, making this an excellent long-term opportunity with a growing organization.
Responsibilities
- Develop and manage preventive maintenance programs
- Troubleshoot and repair electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Coordinate maintenance activities with production, vendors, and contractors
- Manage parts, tools, and maintenance inventory
- Maintain maintenance records and equipment documentation
- Minimize downtime and support efficient plant operations
Qualifications
- 3-5+ years of maintenance experience in manufacturing, industrial, or heavy equipment environments
- Working knowledge of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Ability to read schematics, manuals, and technical documentation
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
Preferred
- Experience in lumber, sawmill, pallet, or wood products manufacturing
- Supervisory or leadership experience
- Forklift and mobile equipment experience
- Familiarity with OSHA safety standards
This position requires working in an active manufacturing environment and performing physical maintenance tasks as needed.
