Position Summary: The Maintenance Manager’s primary responsibility is to support production of continuous high quality sellable products, which includes planning, organizing, directing, coordination and supervision of the Maintenance Department. The Manager maintains assets via maintenance programs, work order programs, departmental scheduling, spare part purchasing, storage, and utilization. Management of people and budgetary planning are required to ensure optimum production of products. Key Responsibilities: Responsible for planning, organizing, directing, coordinating and supervising all maintenance department activities within the compound and surrounding grounds Responsible for the repair and maintenance of the plant facility and equipment within operating budget to ensure optimum production of products Coordinate projects and activities with outside contractors, state and local governmental agencies, inspectors, and vendors Direct maintenance supervisor in daily activities of enforcement of company policies and procedures in the area of safety, GMP’s, and employee relations Ensure the continuation of PM and Work Order programs for production and building equipment and/or assets Special projects and studies as needed Follow all company policies and procedures. Comply with all GMP’s, food safety and quality procedures to ensure that food safety and quality objectives are met. Comply with all safety policies and procedures to maintain a safe work environment. Report all safety, food safety, and quality problems to management. Work cooperatively with others both on your team and on other teams Other duties as may be assigned or volunteered for Key Qualifications, Education, Capabilities, and Metrics: Required Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Management or equivalent experience Minimum of 5 years comprehensive supervisory/managerial experience in industrial facilities maintenance Extensive background in manufacturing environment Mechanical background in general maintenance, electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, steam, and refrigeration Working knowledge of ammonia refrigeration, industrial electrical, hydraulics, pneumatics, and steam boilers Knowledge of food grade materials for manufacturing of components for food manufacturing equipment Demonstrated leadership and management skills Excellent written and verbal communication skills Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail Preferred Bilingual English/Spanish Physical Requirements The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
