Description

Position Summary

The Maintenance Manager is responsible for leading the maintenance and reliability functions for the Eddyville Chlor Alkali facility. This position oversees the planning, execution, and continuous improvement of maintenance activities to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operation of plant equipment and assets.

 

The Maintenance Manager partners closely with Operations, Engineering, EHS, and contractors to maximize equipment reliability, minimize downtime, and support operational excellence in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the maintenance team and provide day-to-day supervision, coaching, and development of maintenance personnel.
  • Plan, prioritize, and oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities.
  • Develop and execute maintenance strategies that improve equipment reliability, availability, and plant performance.
  • Coordinate plant shutdowns, turnarounds, and major maintenance projects.
  • Support capital improvement projects, equipment upgrades, and facility improvements.
  • Manage maintenance planning, scheduling, work orders, and documentation within the CMMS.
  • Monitor maintenance budgets, contractor performance, and equipment expenditures.
  • Partner with Engineering and Operations to troubleshoot equipment issues and implement long-term corrective actions.
  • Ensure maintenance activities comply with company safety policies, environmental requirements, and Process Safety Management (PSM) standards.
  • Support regulatory inspections, audits, and compliance activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, maintenance efficiency, and asset performance.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with vendors, contractors, and equipment suppliers.
  • Maintain maintenance records, reporting, and equipment documentation.
  • Perform other maintenance leadership responsibilities as assigned.


Requirements

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Industrial Maintenance, Engineering Technology, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Ten or more years of maintenance leadership experience in manufacturing or industrial operations.
  • Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and rotating equipment maintenance.
  • Experience leading maintenance planning, scheduling, and reliability programs.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to build high-performing teams, develop employees, and work effectively across departments.

Preferred

  • Experience in chemical manufacturing, chlor-alkali, refining, or other process industries.
  • Experience with Process Safety Management (PSM).
  • Experience with CMMS systems, SAP, or other maintenance management software.
  • Experience managing maintenance budgets, contractors, and capital projects.
  • Professional certifications such as Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) or Project Management Professional (PMP).

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to sit, stand, walk, climb ladders, and access all areas of an industrial manufacturing facility.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) and safely work in an industrial manufacturing environment.

Working Conditions

This position operates within an active chemical manufacturing facility and regularly interacts with production, maintenance, engineering, contractors, and leadership. Occasional overtime, after-hours support, and schedule flexibility may be required to respond to equipment failures, planned outages, and operational priorities.
