Reports To: District Athletic Director, Sports Park Manager
Position Purpose:
To keep the districts facilities & grounds maintained and operational so they present no problems or interruptions to the education program.
Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Experience & training in skill areas of grounds maintenance, mowing, snow removal, repairing, painting, and fencing/netting-sports park maintenance.
Ability to work from verbal and written instructions and ability to design or modify components to meet job requirements.
Knowledge of standard practices, tools, and terminology while caring for grounds, trees, shrubs, flowers, etc.
Knowledge of occupational hazards, safety precautions, hazardous materials, and proper ways necessary to perform assigned tasks.
Physical Requirements:
- Must have or obtain a valid Kansas drivers license and possess a good driving record.
- Ability to follow instructions, get along with others, and work effectively without constant supervision.
- Must be in good physical condition and able to lift 100 pounds.
- Ability to perform work independently & dependably according to prescribed standards & technical procedures.
- Ability to work in varied weather & temperature conditions & to work from heights.
Performance Responsibilities:
- Performs maintenance work with varied levels of skill in order to effectively maintain the Sports Park buildings, grounds, and equipment in a timely manner.
- Will be assigned to district high school for 8 weeks over winter months.
- Must be able to work occasional evening & weekend events held at the Sports Park as required.
- Performs related duties as assigned.
Terms of Employment:
- 12 months salary and work year to be determined by the Board of Education.
- Evaluation: Performance of this position will be evaluated in accordance with provisions of the board policy on evaluation of Classified Personnel.
