Job Summary
The Maintenance and Groundskeeper position is responsible for ensuring that all district facilities and grounds are safe, functional, and aesthetically pleasing. This role focuses heavily on outdoor maintenance, including seasonal groundskeeping and athletic field preparation, while supporting general indoor maintenance and repairs.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Lawn Care: Perform seasonal mowing, trimming, edging, and weed control for all district properties.
- Snow Removal: Operate plow trucks, tractors, skid steers, and snow blowers to clear parking lots, sidewalks, and entry ways. Apply salt and sand to ensure safe conditions for students and staff.
- Landscaping: Prune trees and shrubs, maintain flower beds, and assist with planting or mulching projects.
- Mark, paint, and groom natural and artifical turf fields for district sporting events (football, soccer, baseball and softball).
- Maintain and repair outdoor athletic equipment, including bleachers, goalposts, and fencing.
- Perform semi-skilled tasks in carpentry, plumbing, and electrical repair (e.g., fixing leaks, replacing light ballasts, repairing furniture).
- Conduct preventative maintenance on HVAC systems, kitchen equipment, and district vehicles.
- Support building security by maintaining doors, locks, and hardware.
- Assist with the setup and teardown of equipment for school assemblies, concerts, and community events.
- Serve as a backup for custodial staff when needed to ensure building cleanliness and safety.

- Wage: Competitive hourly rate based on experience (estimate: $19.00 - $25.00/hour).
