About the Agency
The mission of the Specialized Treatment Facility is to promote and strengthen the mental health and education of up to 48 adolescent males and females who are experiencing behavioral difficulties in their homes, schools, and communities. About the Position
The Maintenance/Grounds Technician III position is a seasoned vocational worker accountable for performing a variety of semi-skilled work in the alteration, maintenance, and repair of the buildings and equipment at STF. Employees work in and have general knowledge of a variety of trade areas, including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, painting, plastering, and mechanical repair in settings such as facilities and grounds. May oversee a crew engaged in maintenance tasks contracted to do work within the program. - Responsibilities and Duties The Maintenance/Grounds Technician III involves the installation, maintenance, and repair of facilities, buildings, equipment, and fixtures. Performs skilled tasks in the maintenance and repair fields such as painting, plumbing, carpentry, plastering, electrical work, electronics, air-conditioning/refrigeration, heating, and/or general maintenance. Receives work orders and itemizes assignments to be completed. Performs repairs to appliances and replaces parts. Coordinates the work of employees and assists the supervisor in maintaining buildings, grounds, and equipment. Makes carpentry repairs to buildings. Paints building structures and operates machinery and equipment. Assists with work orders for special events and exhibits. Repairs rooftops, windows, doors, floors, woodwork, plaster, drywall, and/or other parts of the building structure. Inspects, operates, and tests machinery or equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions and correct issues. Makes electrical repairs and minor repairs to heating and ventilating equipment. Ensures the safety of individuals and staff while performing maintenance services. Maintenance staff rotates 24-hour, 365 day on-call standby for emergency response to ensure the integrity of systems, buildings, vehicles, and other equipment, in order to maintain a safe environment for residents and staff. Immediate triage or repair after-hours may be required due to the intentional or accidental destruction of property or failure of systems, such as HVAC, sprinklers, plumbing, etc. The Maintenance/Grounds Technician III position adheres to policies and procedures and participates in continuous learning. This position maintains a valid drivers license and liability insurance to be a driver of a state vehicle. Maintains Mandt certification as required by STF. STF employees are responsible for reading, understanding, and adhering to all policies, protocols, and memorandums. Universal Precautions and Infection Control policies must be adhered to by all STF employees.

You need to be able to be a team player, follow directions, work independently, and a hard worker with multiple skilled trade experience.
Preferred Qualifications
Typically requires 3-4 years of experience. - Agency Preferred Qualifications: High School Diploma or high school equivalency and three (3) to four (4) years of experience in at least one (1) of the following fields: plumbing, carpentry, painting, electronics, electrical work, plastering, air-conditioning/refrigeration, heating equipment, or general maintenance and repair.
