About the Position
The Mississippi Department of Corrections, Central Mississippi Correctional Facility, is recruiting for two Maintenance/Grounds Manager positions located in Rankin County, Mississippi. These positions are responsible for managing facility and grounds maintenance operations, including planning, coordinating, estimating, and scheduling maintenance, alteration, renovation, and improvement projects for the facility. Work may involve coordinating both in-house staff and contracted skilled or semi-skilled trades personnel. The incumbents will estimate project costs and scope, develop and implement facilities management policies and procedures, maintain preventive maintenance schedules for facility systems, and assess future needs related to structural maintenance, facility systems, grounds, and overall operations. Responsibilities include managing day-to-day maintenance and grounds activities; developing operational procedures; managing inventory; preparing status reports; estimating time, materials, and staffing needs; and coordinating with internal departments, vendors, contractors, and other stakeholders involved in assigned projects or activities. Supervisory duties include assisting with recommendations for selection and hiring, training staff, planning and assigning work, reviewing work performance, providing coaching, conducting performance assessments, and addressing progressive discipline when necessary.
