Carpentry, Electrical Components, Maintenance - Electrical, Property Maintenance, Telephone Skills
Perform work involving the skills of two or more maintenance or craft occupations to keep machines, mechanical equipment, or the structure of an establishment in repair. Duties may involve pipe fitting; insulating; welding; machining; carpentry; repairing electrical or mechanical equipment; installing, aligning, and balancing new equipment; and repairing buildings, floors, or stairs. Ability to work overtime and respond to service calls during non-standard work hours. Other duties as required.
Successful applicants must pass a criminal background check and will be subject to a pre-employment drug screen.
WORKING CONDITIONS
Maintenance Engineer I positions involve exposure to and require the employee to function in the presence of the following:- Inclement weather, to include extreme heat/cold, rain, etc.
- Light conditions associated with day and night
- Travel throughout the county to various Sheriff’s Office locations
- Working inside the Baldwin County Corrections Center
- Works with and in-close proximity to inmates
