Maintenance Director – Assisted Living Community

Position Summary

Arcadia at Lookout Ridge is seeking a reliable, hands-on Maintenance Director to lead all aspects of building maintenance, unit turns, and environmental services within our assisted living community.

This role is responsible for ensuring a safe, well-maintained, and welcoming environment for our residents, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate is proactive, organized, and takes pride in completing work thoroughly and on time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily maintenance operations for the community
  • Manage and complete work orders in a timely manner
  • Ensure all unit turns are completed, inspected, and move-in ready
  • Perform routine maintenance, repairs, and preventative maintenance
  • Maintain and oversee building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical, etc.)
  • Ensure compliance with all state regulations, WAC requirements, and life safetycodes
  • Prepare for and participate in state inspections and surveys
  • Support housekeeping oversight and collaborate across departments
  • Participate in Manager on Duty rotation, including meal service support
  • Maintain inventory of supplies and ensure essential items are stocked
  • Respond to maintenance needs and emergencies as needed

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong work ethic with a hands-on, “see it, fix it” mindset
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and follow through without constant direction
  • Experience in building maintenance, facilities, or a related field
  • Knowledge of Washington State WAC regulations and applicable life safety codes required
  • Previous experience in assisted living, senior living, or healthcare strongly preferred
  • Strong communication and leadership skills
  • Ability to manage time effectively and work independently
  • Dependable with strong attendance and accountability

Qualifications

  • Maintenance or facilities experience required
  • Working knowledge of WAC regulations, fire/life safety codes, and inspection readiness
  • Knowledge of basic electrical, plumbing, and general repairs
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull as needed
  • Valid driver’s license preferred

Schedule & Expectations

  • Full-time, primarily Monday–Friday daytime hours
  • Participation in an on-call rotation as needed
  • Occasional weekend or after-hours support may be required
