An established and successful aerospace supplier in the defense industry is seeking a highly organized, hands-on Maintenance Coordinator to support maintenance operations at its Carson, CA facility. The Maintenance Coordinator will be responsible for helping establish, manage, and track maintenance schedules for heavy machinery and manufacturing equipment. This role requires someone who is comfortable working on the shop floor, coordinating with multiple departments, and using systems, spreadsheets, and maintenance tracking tools to ensure equipment is properly maintained and operations run smoothly.
Bilingual Spanish/English skills are required.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish, maintain, and monitor preventive maintenance schedules for heavy machinery, production equipment, and facility-related systems.
- Work closely with the Maintenance Director to prioritize maintenance needs, repairs, inspections, and service schedules.
- Coordinate daily with manufacturing, safety, human resources, operations, and other internal departments to ensure maintenance activities are properly communicated and completed.
- Track maintenance work orders, schedules, equipment history, vendor activity, and completion status using spreadsheets, systems, and internal documentation tools.
- Assist with organizing parts, service records, safety documentation, and maintenance compliance records.
- Communicate maintenance schedules and updates to shop floor personnel and department leaders.
- Help identify equipment issues, safety concerns, scheduling conflicts, and process improvement opportunities.
- Support maintenance planning to reduce downtime and improve equipment reliability.
- Follow all company safety policies, aerospace manufacturing standards, and defense industry compliance requirements.
- Maintain a visible, hands-on presence on the manufacturing floor.
- Bilingual in Spanish and English required.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing, aerospace, defense, industrial, or heavy machinery maintenance environment strongly preferred.
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
- Experience creating or managing maintenance schedules, preventive maintenance calendars, work orders, or equipment tracking systems.
- Comfortable working on the shop floor in a hands-on manufacturing environment.
- Strong computer skills, including spreadsheets, tracking systems, email, and internal reporting tools.
- Ability to work with multiple departments and communicate clearly with both shop floor employees and management.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- Knowledge of safety procedures, equipment maintenance practices, or manufacturing compliance is a plus.
- Must be dependable, proactive, and comfortable taking ownership of schedules and follow-up.
