Summary: Repair and maintain district equipment and housing facilities. Essential duties and responsibilities include:
• Provide routine maintenance functions. • Determine the repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns and major overhauls on air conditioning systems, refrigeration equipment, heating system, electrical systems, plumbing system, and building structure by regular inspections and work order system from the maintenance department. • Determine by work order system from the maintenance department and regular inspections, the repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns and major overhauls on electrical systems. • Change lights, ballasts, replace light switches, replace plugs, and reset breakers one time only, repair cords as needed. • Determine by work order system from the maintenance department and regular inspections, the repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns and major overhauls on plumbing and draining systems. • Repair showers, faucets, toilets, and stopped up sinks. • Determine by work order system from maintenance and regular inspections, the repair and maintenance work necessary to prevent breakdowns and major overhauls on the hardware, doors, windows, roofing, walls, and flooring. • Repair doors, windows, walls, and carpet. • Maintain service logs as required. • Maintain assigned uniforms, equipment, and tools, office and parts room in an operable, safe, and attractive status. • Account for supplies, materials, and equipment as required. • Maintain facilities, security. • Perform annual housing inspections. • Communicate effectively with District personnel and outside agencies involved with maintenance. • Comply with all Board of Education policies, administrative regulations, Public Education Department guidelines, and local, state, and federal laws. • Perform other duties as assigned. • Accept other responsibilities and duties assigned by supervisor. • Support district and school efforts to keep CCSD safe and secure. • Complete and comply with all required trainings annually. • Adhere to NM Code of Ethical Responsibility of the Education Profession (NMAC 6.60.9.8).
Minimum Qualifications: High School Diploma or GED Two years experience in general maintenance
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities: Knowledge of Dine language, culture, and history preferred Good communication skills and customer service skills Physical/Job Requirements: Physical ability to do manual work for at least 8 hours per day. Sitting, standing, driving, bending, stooping, kneeling, and lifting, climbing ladders, lifting from floor to mid-thigh maximum (70lbs) occasionally. Lifting from mid-thigh to shoulder maximum (60 lbs.) occasionally. Lifting from shoulder to overhead (0 lbs.), carrying maximum 75lbs. Work overhead, work in tight areas, able to work off ladders and to work at floor level (on knees). Hand/eye coordination, normal range of sight. Ability to move and operate equipment related to maintenance. Ability to operate hand and power tools. Safety and Health: Knowledge of universal hygiene precautions Completed and cleared background check Pass drug test if required for position Knowledge and compliance with district and school Safety Plans
Equipment/Material Handled: Multimedia equipment, including current technology Equipment/materials relevant to the job responsibilities Valid driver license and insurable by district if necessary
