We are seeking aMaintenance Assistant to join our team! This role offers a great opportunity for someone interested in healthcare facility operations and maintenance, particularly within a skilled nursing environment.

Position: Maintenance Assistant

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the Maintenance Director with daily maintenance tasks including repairs, groundskeeping, equipment checks, and general upkeep.
  • Support the trach unit by ensuring critical areas are functioning properly and maintaining equipment cleanliness and readiness.
  • Respond to work orders and safety concerns in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Perform basic repairs and maintenance on facility systems such as lighting, HVAC, plumbing, and fixtures under supervision.
  • Help with seasonal outdoor tasks such as landscaping, trash removal, and general beautification of the grounds.
  • Ensure hallways and rooms remain clear and hazard-free to maintain resident and staff safety.
  • Communicate effectively with nursing and environmental services teams to coordinate needs in the trach unit.
  • Follow infection control protocols and maintain confidentiality and resident dignity at all times.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous maintenance or custodial experience a plus but not required.
  • Comfortable working around residents with medical conditions, including tracheostomies.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs, bend, kneel, and perform physical tasks safely.
  • Positive attitude, reliability, and willingness to learn.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
