We are currently seeking a dependable Maintenance Assistant to join our team.
Position Overview: Maintenance Assistant
Under the direction of the Maintenance Director, the Maintenance Assistant is responsible for helping maintain facility grounds and performing general maintenance services inside and outside the building. This role plays an important part in ensuring a safe, clean, and well-functioning environment for residents, visitors, and staff.
Key Responsibilities:
Assist with general maintenance tasks throughout the facility
Maintain facility grounds and exterior areas
Perform basic repairs involving mechanics, carpentry, electrical work, and painting
Respond to work orders and prioritize tasks to meet facility needs
Follow written and verbal instructions, diagrams, and schedules
Maintain a safe environment by identifying and reporting hazards
Work independently while supporting the maintenance team as needed
Qualifications:
Minimum of one (1) year of experience in maintenance or a related field
Demonstrated knowledge of mechanics, carpentry, electrical work, painting, or similar trades
Ability to interpret written and verbal instructions, diagrams, and schedules
Strong organizational skills and ability to manage work orders efficiently
Initiative and ability to work independently
Patience, tact, enthusiasm, and a positive attitude toward the elderly and disabled
Ability to speak, read, write, and understand English
Ability to perform the essential job functions and meet physical and sensory requirements
